Message from the RVA CEO Jane Holdsworth
It is with great pleasure and pride that I am able to introduce the inaugural 2009 RVA National Business Excellence Awards. The awards will recognise, celebrate and promote the outstanding achievements of retirement village operators, developers and businesses providing services to the retirement village industry.
The RVA National Business Excellence Awards are the first of their kind in Australia and have been created to recognise and encourage industry excellence in all facets of retirement village operations. The RVA has recognised that the high level of excellence within the retirement village industry has gone unnoticed for too long. As a result, we want to acknowledge, promote and reward villages and businesses through excellence of service, commitment to their residents and ethical practices and behaviour.
The RVA National Business Excellence Awards are open to all RVA members. Finalists and winners will be presented with a trophy and certificate and deservedly share in many benefits that these prestigious awards will provide. Award recipients will be presented with the opportunities to:
- Showcase their success and excellence;
- Promote their achievements to new residents and/or customers;
- Reward dedicated and hardworking staff;
- Receive peer recognition within the industry, by government and other stakeholders; and
- Be recognised as industry leaders.
As a way of identifying achievement in contemporary retirement village planning and operational challenges, the award categories include:
- Design • Sustainability
- Business Practice • Innovation
- Providing a Product or Service • Customer Service
- Longevity in Business Award • Individual Award – Outstanding Contribution
The RVA National Business Excellence Awards will set high standards for developers, managers of retirement villages and organisations providing services to the retirement village industry in Australia. They will encourage innovation, business best practice and leadership.
Winners of the 2009 RVA National Business Excellence Awards will be announced at a formal black tie gala evening to be held in Melbourne on Friday June 12 2009.
I encourage you to consider the wonderful benefits and opportunities of entering the 2009 RVA National Business Excellence Awards and the recognition that it will provide your village and business.
