Working for an insurance company is like a dream come true. Since my mother got sick and used tpd insurance, I realized working for an insurance company is where I want to be. I used to want to work in investment banking, but I realized how competitive it was, and I couldn't be bothered, and now I couldn't be happier.
My Roles
Even though I'm just part of the bigger machine, my role is important and I get to help people when they need help. Even though I don't get to give out insurance quotes, or anything like a trauma insurance quote or funeral insurance quote, I answer phones, get people coffee, supply the staffroom with biscuits, and sometimes I operate the lift.
Valued Employee
I'm super-proud of myself for getting this far in insurance. It may not be as competitive as investment banking, but it's pretty up there. I know that everyone I work with appreciates my role, even if they don't tell me all the time. My colleagues especially appreciate the coffees I bring them in the morning - I've memorized their orders.
Types Of Insurance
I think one of the greatest things the company offers is key person insurance, because that kind of thing is a no-brainer. No one ever think they'll get injured, but it happens, and it's better to be safe than sorry. I love that we offer this kind of insurance to our customers - I really think it says 'we care' more than anything else.
